Spring is here …. well almost

Spring is trying to arrive, really it is.  Or at least that is what I keep telling myself.  Yesterday looking at the weather forecast and hearing that it was supposed to snow this morning was a bit of a downer, but Spring proved them wrong and rebelled by only showing cloudy skies and not one flake of snow thus far.  Here are a couple shots of the flowers in my garden trying so hard to make their grand entrance.

Rotweilers + Not So Abandoned Property = One Very Interesting {Love Bird} Session

Things are not always as they appear.  Yes, as a matter of fact I learned that lesson quite well on the weekend with Melia and Cam.  Thankfully we survived the scary guard dogs and made it out in one piece !!  I was on a quest for a fabulous vintage location and found it, unfortunately it came with some unexpected guests…so we had to leave 🙁  That being said, in the time we were there I managed to capture some super cute shots with this smokin hot couple before we ventured on to where the grass was greener 😉  I am so funny sometimes.  No seriously, I am really really funny.  Right ?!  Maybe check out the photos first and then you might get my uber lame joke.

Melia and Cam thank you for being such great sports and totally acting like it was ‘no biggie’ that I practically had you maimed and killed by ferocious guard dogs.  You guys kept your cool even with our other surprise guests arrived and I thank you for your ‘ain’t no thang’ super chill attitudes 🙂  You guys rock.

Love her dress – so cute! Great shots, as usual.

HILARIOUS !!!

I can’t tell you how many times I have watched this video over the past couple days.  Darren’s brother was over the other day and showed it to us and we were laughing so hard we could have peed ourselves.  Hope you enjoy 🙂

{Love Bird} Session | Luke + Liz

I had such a fun {love bird} session with Luke and Liz on Sunday.  I used to work with Luke and it had been awhile since I had seen him, and boy do I miss his humour!  We definitely spent a lot of our time laughing over references to nipples being able to cut glass (any Friends fans will know what I am talking about).  It was FREEZING out.  But despite the super gray clouds that followed us around, we managed to escape any rain or snow.  Our first bit of good luck.

I am so fortunate to be a photographer in one of the most beautiful places on earth.  Not 10 minutes from where we live (Luke, Liz and I are practically neighbours) we were able to take pictures at Hatley castle at Royal Roads (where X-Men was filmed) and a fabulous beach.  Seriously, how lucky am I ??

Before our session was over we also had to sneak a few photos with the newest addition to their family, an incredibly adorable puppy named Juno.  And we can’t forget Sam their other super cute ball of white fluff.

Glad you guys survived this shot ;)

Gian turns One

I have had the pleasure of shooting a few birthday parties and they are always so filled with colour, excitement, and contagious energy.  Gian’s party on the weekend was no exception.  In fact, this birthday party was incredible.  There was a TON of people (probably more than will be at my wedding this summer!) a lot of yummy food, a pile of presents and goodie bags, balloons galore, a beautiful cake and last but not least…clowns!!

Now when then the clowns first arrived they were not a huge hit with a couple of the kiddies, but everyone eventually warmed up to them and the room was full of laughter.  They put on a wonderful show, complete with doves, waterworks and feathers.  Everyone had quite the laugh when one of the little party goers pointed out that they will have to clean all of this up before they go.

Before the party really got underway I was able to steal Gian and his parents, Amy and Preet, away for a few quick family photos.

Here are some of my favourites from the day.

Look at those lashes!
