VA VA VOOOOOOOOM !!!

This is my third time shooting the lovely and uber photogenic, Dee.  This lady knows how to work it !!  Canada’s next top models should be taking notes 😉

We used one of my favourite outdoor locations in Metchosin, and even brought along my infamous red leather wingback chair (it’s way heavier than it looks by the way, so carrying it to our location was a feat in itself !)  It was not warm at all, let me tell you.  So you can only imagine how cold Dee was and therefore what a trooper she was being braving the elements in minimal clothing!  Tyra would be proud 😉

I know it’s going to be a good ‘boudoir’ session , or any session for that matter, when the client shows up with a suitcase of outfits, jewelry, high heels etc.  Dee even brought a wicked wooden stool and a funky mirror.   We had so much to work with and got a great variety of shots.

I’ve been doing a lot of ‘sexy’ or ‘boudoir’ sessions lately, and can’t tell you how much I enjoy them.  There is something so rewarding to me about helping make a woman feel sexy!  Hearing a woman say “That can’t be me, look how HOT I look,” just makes me feel awesome.  I know what a confidence boost it can be to have photos where you think you look just fabulous and these sessions are all about that.  I just love how many women are doing these sessions just for themselves too.  I am seeing more and more of that and I always want to say “good for you!”  I think that is a wonderful way to celebrate your own beauty.  And if by chance they are for someone else then lucky them!

This is going to be a big post, so sit back grab a coffee or tea and enjoy!

These are fantastic; the second was my favourite, til I saw the 7th one, and then the 9th. Gave me some great ideas, too.

30 Cans to a Great Cause !!

With the snow on the ground and temperatures dropping well below freezing this week, I can’t help but think of those less fortunate with no warm place to sleep or go to escape the weather.   I hope that this fundraiser will at least put some good hot meals on the tables of those who really need it.

I would truly like to thank all of you who took the time to leave a comment on my blog this past week and participate in my “Cans for Comments” fundraiser.  I received 30 comments on the button and will be donating the cans this weekend to my local foodbank.  I really appreciate all of your thoughtful, sweet, and inspirational words.

Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!

Please help to get the word out – send a Facebook message to your contacts, or an email to all your family and friends…heck even use it as your twitter or Facebook status. I already have received a lot of comments which = cans to the foodbank, but any extra comment will definitely help those in need.

Family Fun !

2 posts in 1 day – I am on a ROLL !!

Cheryl, Tom, Lara, and Margo – what a fun loving family 🙂  These guys showed me such a great time !

While the ladies finished getting ready for the session, Tom showed me around their house and we scouted for potential spots to use as backdrops.  It wasn’t hard to do.  They have a gorgeous house and a fabulous yard.  Cheryl really knows how to garden !  We settled on some casual shots on their front stairs (with an awesome blue door in the background) and then some in the front yard using the adorable little garden nook they built this summer.  From there we moved to the backyard and Tom brought out some great big lawn furniture to use as props.  *I LOVE LOVE LOVE it when my clients want to incorporate fun props and furniture into their photos*  Their super cute pup was in almost all the photos and is even the star in a few of them 😉  After finishing up with the photos at their home, we went to Uplands Park.  I had never been there before and it was great to use a location that is well known to their family.  They knew all the great spots!  We got some beautiful shots in the field which have more of an artsy flair to them and then some really fun ones using a great big Oak tree.  We managed to finish up just as it begun to POUR buckets.  Good timing 😉  Thanks so much to your family for making this such a great session.  You guys were up for anything and were perfect sports.  Lara and Margo – you rocked it !!

PS – Your prints are done 🙂  The book is on it’s way !

Hi Kim!

Absolutely love this album! I was actually wanting to get in touch to see if you did any family stuff because I think my dad is interested in getting a GC for a booking with you for my mom’s Christmas gift and there’s an awesome family album you just did up. Nice work!
Also wanted to send you a lot of holiday love. So proud of your incredible talent and work! Hope to see you over the holidays!!!

Much love,

These family photos are stunning Kim, they make me wish that you were on the mainland so you take some photos of Lance, Jessica and I! I’ll have to get in touch when Jessica is well and out of the hospital so we can arrange something over there… your work is just beautiful and the cans for comments is a great way to help those in need at this time of year.

Confession

All right. I need to get this out in the open. I am officially addicted to Nutella. There – that wasn’t so bad. Now everyone knows. It is just so darn good !!! I can’t tell you how many times Darren has busted me with the jar and spoon in hand. It’s actually embarrassing. But he always just looks at me with that “Aren’t you and all your quirky little habits just adorable” smile and laughs. He’s a good man. He knows that it is also in his best interest to not make ANY comment regarding what he has just witnessed 😉
