Love Bird Session {Steph & Matt}

I had such a great session today with Steph and Matt!  The snow, rain, wind and other non-photographer friendly weather held off for us, FINALLY, which was fabulous.

Before I get going here I just have to say that the two of them are ridiculously good looking and photogenic – don’t ya think ?!  They made my job easy, that’s for sure!  Steph and I have known each other for years and I was honoured when she asked if I could take some shots of her and Matt while they were visiting Victoria from Toronto.  I am sure this session was probably a bit bitter sweet for them as Matt is leaving soon to spend a year in Israel.  I was truly happy that I could capture them together and so in love!

Steph and Matt – Here are a few teasers, with lots more to come!  Hope you love them.

All the best to you both and have a safe trip home.

Your locations are incredible! There is nothing like this in FL. Awesome photos!

Baby it's cold outside ….

With the weather being (hmmmm, how should I put this) … CRAPPY, the past couple weeks all I can think about is the last trip I took back in September to Maui.  Darren and I were there to shoot a fabulous destination wedding for Megan & Aiden.

It was our first time in Maui and won’t be our last!  We just loved it and I have been thinking about it non-stop for the past few days.  From the balcony of our condo we sat for hours and watched sea turtles swim in the ocean right in front of us!  We sat and sipped great Hawaiian coffee, ate delicious pineapple and soaked up some good Vitamin D.  Happy hour occurred everyday.  We enjoyed yummy lime and strawberry margaritas while we sat and read our books.  We spent hours and hours exploring the island in our rental car and saw some stunning scenery.

Here are a couple images from our trip that take me right back there.  May these pics brighten your day!

Matt this post is for you.  Hope you enjoy and have a great vacation 🙂

Naughty and Nice …

So the uber fabulous clients in my next post get HUGE brownie points for choosing to do their boudoir sessions together.  That always guarantees to be a good time, full of giggles and stilliness and awesome photos.   I have done this in the past for clients and I wanted to blog about it as I think it is a really great option for clients looking to have a little support from their best gal pal as they get their ‘boudoir’ on, and it is also just plain FUN !!  Not everyone knows this is an possibility for their sessions, so I am here to tell you that not only is it an option, but it is encouraged !  And feel free to bring the wine 😉

These ladies came prepared.  I have never seen so many wicked outfits, shoes and jewelry.  And they had it all laid out and organized and ready to go.  They had the outfit changes down to a fine art.  We sort of alternated taking photos of each of them and it really worked out just perfectly.

I can’t tell you how much fun I had with these two absolutely stunning ladies.  I swear we spent as much time laughing as we did taking photos.  I had to hold off on this post till after Christmas as they are officially the best girlfriends ever, and were doing these sessions as Christmas presents for their boyfriends.   Well ladies, I just have to say thanks again for working with me.  It was truly a pleasure.  You rocked it !!

Lost and hopefully soon to be found …

My favourite toque has gone missing !!!   It was last seen on my head on a snowy walk we went on about a week ago (pics below).  I am pretty sure it was on my head when we returned home, yet it is nowhere to be found 🙁  I love this toque.  Love love love it.   I got it as a secret santa gift years ago at a soccer Xmas party and it has got a ton of use.  Snowboarding trips, camping trips, cold fall and winter walks will not be the same without it!   I have searched my house high and low, but I am not giving up.  It HAS to be here somewhere !!! Perhaps my mischeivious little kitties have hid it somewhere. Lucy and Dezzy do you have anything you need to tell mommy ??

Snow Day!

So if you live in Victoria or the surrounding areas, you know we have received a lot of snow over the past week.  For this family session we braved the elements and got some great colourful shots.  Their beautiful home and awesome vintage trucks were fabulous personal additions to the pics.  I LOVE old vehicles…so clients out there, if you ever want to incorporate any into your session I will never say no 😉

“S” family, thank you for letting me capture your special family photos!

I have picked a few of my favs from the day and you can find them posted below.
