Sarah & Joe {Expecting}

In less than a month Sarah and Joe will be meeting the newest arrival to their family.  July 21st is supposed to be the big day – unless baby has other plans 🙂

For their maternity session we explored a park that is new to me, and with lovely paths, flowing grass, and tall Oak trees I can guarantee I will be back there taking pictures again.  It was a beautiful park and we were blessed with the most perfect late afternoon light.   I have to admit, I am proud of these images.  I think they captured the gentle nature of Sarah’s personality and the strength of Joe’s character quite well.  Both of them were incredibly easy to photograph.  Their easy going style made the shots just come naturally which is always such a treat.

Sarah just glows and her peaceful demeanor shines through.  I truly enjoyed documenting the love these two have and their excitement for their new arrival.   Sarah and Joe have also booked a newborn session for when baby arrives and I can’t wait !  Judging by how these two have been blessed with some beautiful genes I am guessing that baby will be just adorable !

Sarah & Joe  I hope you love them !!

Melissa, thanks for the comment – and yes, we are your neighbours! We should get together for a play date after our little one arrives. : )

Wow, Kim.. knocked these out of the park! That is a gorgeous location, but I love how just seems to suit their personalities. Very peaceful. Gorgeous, hard to pick a favourite!

You’ve outdone yourself again Kim, gorgeous photos. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that i believe we are Joe and Sarahs next door neighbours (embarassed if i’m wrong)? So awful that i haven’t properly introduced myself but it’s been a crazy year!
The photos are really beautiful and Sarah looks amazing!
If we are in fact neighbours i’m excited that i may just meet this little one at some point and if Ben and i can be of any help (8 months worth of colic experience here – as you both probably heard lots of through the windows, lol) don’t hesitate to come by at any time for any reason.
Congrats to you both – take care and see you around!!
We’ll be seeing you again soon Kim for more photos, just waiting for Kobe to start walking!

We are family !!!

I headed out to Beacon Hill for a fun session with the Bush family on the weekend.  The ‘kids’ in this wonderful family had surprised their parents with the photo session as a gift.  What a sweet idea !! Sidenote – For those of you out there who also think this is an awesome gift idea, I can always make you a gift certificate too if you’re interested  🙂

You may recognize two of the people in these photos.  I shot Megan and Aidan’s AMAZING wedding in Maui last September … you can see their photos here.  I LOVE working with these two.  They are full of energy and so much fun … not to mention fabulously photogenic.  So it was so great to work with them again.   Hi guys!

The rest of the family was equally as enjoyable, adorable, easy going and up for anything I threw their way and I love that.

Here are just a few teaser images from your session.  Hope you like them!  It always nice to document a little bit of family history 🙂

Kim, I love your work. I had to comment on the one of the family sitting on the green benches – eye-popping! The colours are fantastic. Such a simple setting but such a beautiful photo.

Denise & Jamie {Married}

Saturday was such a perfect day for a wedding.  It was so gorgeous and sunny with bright blue skies and a gentle breeze.  I left for Denise and Jamie’s wedding knowing that we were going to capture some truly amazing images on this incredible day.

I had met Denise and Jamie in July 2008 when they first began planning their wedding.  The ceremony and reception were to take place at the Olympic View Golf Course.  The ceremony was held on one of the putting greens, which was adorned with perfect white chairs and two large vases of flowers framed where they would share their vows.  The colours just popped against the crisp green backdrop.  Denise arrived in a golf cart with her three stunning bridesmaids.  They followed closely behind the most adorable ring bearer and flower girl EVER.  I had the biggest smile on my face watching these two cuties walk down the aisle.

Denise looked radiant in her raw silk dress and the delicate beading caught the sunlight.  Now those who know Denise are aware of her infectious laughter.  She had the whole audience laughing at several points throughout the ceremony.

I didn’t catch the name of their Justice of the Peace, but she delivered on of the truly most beautiful ceremonies I have seen.  I would have thought she had known Jamie and Denise for years.  There was such a personal connection between all of them as they said their vows.  I felt very honoured to witness their touching ceremony.

After the ceremony was finished, we did some quick family photos by one of the ponds and then it was off to do some bridal party shots.  Our first stop was Albert Head Lagoon, which proved to be very windy, so we didn’t last long there.  We carried on to a favourite field of mine out towards Witty’s Lagoon.  It was there that we had some fun in the grass, and down a path to the ocean.  I had so much fun with their bridal party.  We shared some pretty hilarious discussions about Beavers, Bunnies and Camels, that had us all howling.  I had to put the camera down a couple times I was laughing so hard.  I needed to give myself a moment as I had tears running down my face!  Could have been the alergies too as my nose and eyes were hating me by this point – I am sure with all the crazy sniffling and blood shot eyes it would have appeared that I had a ginormous cocaine habit – which of course I DON’T.  Ok guys, just wanted to clear that up 😉

Denise and Jamie were such troopers.  I had them wandering all over and climbing down some interesting paths and they didn’t even bat an eye.  I hope that after seeing these images, they feel it was worth the adventure!

Denise and Jamie, you were such fun to work with!  I hope you have an amazing time on Galiano.  I’ll be in touch when you get back 🙂  Hope you love these first few teasers!

I could probably pick through these and list everything I love about each one, but overall I’ll just say these are really classy images, nicely sophisticated & modern. Love the moments.
