All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth …

Well Kate is working on it.  She already has her bottom two and she was flashing those pearly whites with her big beautiful smile for almost our whole session.  She was making me melt the entire time!  Seriously, she was wearing the PERFECT outfit for her session.  Adorable tartan dress = Check.  Black patent leather shoes = Check.  Tights = Check.  Black knit cardigan = Check.   This outfit just added to her already ridiculous cuteness.

Chris, Mark and Kate (and Parker and Pica the beautiful pups featured in one photo) are one gorgeous family.  Sidenote – I would pay good money to look as fabulous as Chris does after having a baby!  She looks amazing !!

Let’s move on to the cuteness …. here it is.

I swear that no baby was harmed in the making of this photo!

Kim took wonderful photos for our annual Christmas card … We are thrilled to have Kate (11 months) in our family this year and to have found Kim to take our photos. We used four of Kim’s images on our card, too many good ones to choose only one!

Lia & Sean {E-Session}

I love how my business has helped me reconnect with so many familiar faces in the city I live in.  Sean and I went to Elementary school together and you can imagine how excited I was to hear from him and that he was getting married and wanted me to photograph their special day!

Sean and Lia opted to do an engagement session before their wedding, which I think is really awesome.  It was a great chance for us to get out and have some fun together while chit chatting about the details of their wedding to come.  The love that Lia and Sean share just oozes out of them.  Lia couldn’t stop smiling and I thought it was adorable how she kept trying to make Sean laugh.  Getting these two to cuddle up for the camera was no problem at all.

I have to say that the photo with the peacock was a highlight 😉  I was just happy it didn’t peck my eyes out.  I had a traumatic rooster attack experience that I am obviously not over yet !!

Here are just a couple teasers for Lia and Sean.  Hope you love them!

ChrisNovember 11, 2009 - 3:34 pm

Love them all – especially the first one.

Gooorrrgeous. First & third for me, Kim! Love the forest setting!

My Beautiful Bestie ;)

Cara and I met when I shot her wedding in October 2008.  I thought she was the cutest !!  Her and I completely hit it off at our first consultation meeting and frequently met for coffee dates leading up to her wedding.   It is not so often that you find someone who is as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside.  And let me tell you that Cara is that person.  Cara is so incredibly sweet, sincere, compassionate, funny, thoughtful and beautiful inside and out.  I love that we have become such close friends!  I love her and so does my camera!

So when I did my one-on-one learning session with the fantastic Amy and Richard of Red Leaf Studios, I knew who would be the perfect model !! Cara used to model and you will see why in a few moments … she is a STUNNER !!  I have never met such a photogenic person.  For this session I wanted to challenge myself with a difficult lighting situation.  We headed to the water right when the sun was super bright and played around with the light.  I am quite proud of these images.  Being a photographic artist requires one to continue to push themselves.  To grow.  To challenge what’s comfortable.  And this session did just that for me.  I hope you like them as much as I do 🙂

PS – Cara has a FANTASTIC business, Top Dog Daycare and Spa, with her business partner Trish.  They do an AMAZING job there.  So if you are looking for a fabulous doggy daycare, or your pup needs a new ‘do’ these are the ladies to call !!  (250) 920-3647

I’ve seldom felt so stunned by one and the same photographer as I have with your images, Kim. These are just out-of-this-world beautiful! 😉 PS: I came across your site while looking for more info on the Red Leaf workshops. Do you use their actions on your photos?

Alison & Derek {E-Session}

For those of you who follow my blog regularly you will know how much I rave about the importance of engagement sessions for couples who are getting married.  Over the years I have noticed a HUGE difference in the outcome of the wedding photos where I have worked with the clients previously.  Having an engagement session allows both the client and myself get to know each other just a little bit better and it provides both of us an opportunity to see what it is like to work together before the big day.  This is a huge advantage as on your wedding day you know what to expect.  You will know my style of shooting and it therefore eliminates the ‘fear of the unknown’ of what your wedding photography experience will be like.  The last thing you want to be stressing out about on your wedding day is the photos.  I want the photos to be a FUN part of your wedding day and a fantastic overall experience.  If we have worked together before your wedding day you will get comfortable in front of the camera a lot faster, which in turn gives us more shooting time where you look natural and relaxed which helps us create awesome photos!

So as you can imagine I was thrilled when Alison and Derek told me they were interested in booking an e-session!  I am shooting their wedding this summer and judging by these first few photos these two are going to rock it out big time on their big day!  We chose the breakwater for their photo location as this is where Derek proposed.  We did humiliate him for fun by re-creating the proposal for a cheesy photo op.  And if you have been to the breakwater you know how busy it can get on a beautiful day … so needless to say he had some entertained spectators.  Thanks for being such great sports you guys!  I had so much fun and it just made me that much more excited for your wedding day!

xxoo

Incredible photos of an incredible couple. Alison & Derek – good choice with the casual clothing – you look completely natural, utterly in love and beautiful too. I can’t pick just one favourite – I love #2, 4, 5 & 9. xoxo

Very nice couple, very nice work Kim I will certainly have to get back down on my knees again to my beautiful wife, “every picture tells a story.” Good luck to Alison & Derek.

LOVE THEM!! #5 is priceless!! Thanks a million, can’t wait to see the rest!!

A Beautiful Gift

Jenny and Matt surprised their mom, Diane, with a gift certificate for a family photo session for her birthday.  What a great idea if I do say so!

We lucked out with some fantastic weather for this special session.  Diane loves the outdoors, especially the ocean, so we headed down along Dallas Road for some fun photo time with their gorgeous family … including Abbey the adorable white ball of fluff 🙂

Here are just a few teasers. Enjoy!

SeanOctober 31, 2009 - 11:39 pm

Nice job on these, Kim! Especially love the new post-processing, looks almost vintage! Just a beautiful connection you’ve captured between the three of them.
