My ideal wedding clients

As I learn more about business as I go along, I am truly learning the importance of attracting the right client to me. By displaying what it is I want to shoot more of, my personal photography style, ideal shoots, favourite images and my putting as much of ‘me’ out there as possible , have been important tools in achieving this.

When I first started out, anyone who wanted to pay me could be my client. But I quickly realized that approach doesn’t always benefit the client or myself. Instead, I learned that in order for us both to walk away from our time together and the images we create totally impressed and happy with the experience, it was essential to have some similar beliefs about photography … and life in general … as well as compatible personalities.

How would I describe my ‘ideal’ clients? Hmmmmm let me see ….

Sweet, easy-going, stylish, majorly in love, both individuals value photography, practices gratitude, desires a beautiful life enriched with travel and the simple pleasures in life and appreciating the beauty all around, and is HAPPY.

Just a few thoughts that come to mind.

You know who fits that profile perfectly ? Valerie and Kelly !!! They were one of my favourite couples … EVER. Gorgeous inside and out. And here they are 🙂

Kim, just the post I needed to read! Thanks for the insight on how to attract those perfect clients, clearly I need to start pairing up with some vendors and doing some more “styled” shoots 😉

Purely stunning Kim! What a lovely couple; it really comes through in the photos. And the images on the boat – breathtaking.

Lindsay & Craig | Married

I love the process of getting to know my clients throughout their wedding planning process, and even more so when they become friends! I can say that without a doubt, Lindsay and Craig are some of the most generous people I have ever met. They made me feel so included in their day, and not just ‘someone’ they hired to take their photos. This is so special to me.

Now with all this sweetness in their personalities would you believe me if I told you they were gorgeous as well ?! They are! Holy hot couple alert !

Thank you to the fabulous vendors that made their day such a splendid affair.

ma-luxe studios

As many of you know, I am apart of a fabulous collective of female entrepreneurs based in the bridal, beauty and fashion industries in Victoria. We work together in a shared, one-of-a-kind, 4,200 sq ft studio space in the heart of downtown. This fabulous space is where I meet my potential brides, shoot my allure photography, and use for my portrait ordering sessions. I have yet to have a client enter the space without asking if they could move in lol ! I don’t blame them. It is filled with girlie gorgeousness. Chandeliers, candles EVERYWHERE, fresh florals, champagne, art, massive mirrors, and contemporary white on white on white – so fabulous and truly and inspiring environment!

I thought I would share a few photos as a little sneak peek on some of the space.

Styled Shoot – The White Peony

There is a fabulous new bridal boutique in town, The White Peony. Trish, the owner, is the sweetest thing and holy moly is she a stunner! Her store (on Government Street) is equally gorgeous and if you are in the neighbourhood you must check it out.

Myself and the ma-luxe ladies were so fortunate to help put together this amazing session to help showcase Trish’s beautiful store and some of the one-of-a-kind gowns that her store offers.
