For photographers, a bag is a critical instrument for carrying their expensive arsenal, so naturally, one wants to get the best quality at a great price. There are a variety of bags available based on the photographer’s needs—from a backpack for carrying most of their gear for difficult assignments to a satchel to carry one camera and a lens for lighter days. In this regard, ProMaster has been creating both types to meet the varying needs of photographs—they are not just comfortable but also pocket-friendly. To grow its innovative lineup, the company has launched a ProMaster Jasper 2.0 satchel and rolltop backpack, incorporating new features. Let’s have a look at what they offer.
ProMaster Jasper 2.0—Comfort Meets Durability
The ProMaster Jasper 2.0 satchels are available in three varying sizes—4L, 6.8L, and 10L. The first one is only for essential gear like a mirrorless camera and an extra lens, while in the second size, you can add even a small LED light and a 14-inch Macbook Pro. The last one, however, can hold more gear, including a 16-inch Macbook Pro.

Here is a list of a few other features:
- A fast-action top zipper.
- Stretchy side pockets for storing small items.
- Smart storage compartments for additional camera accessories.
- Metal slide buckles for access.
- Various concealed clever pockets.
- You can also customize the bag with the removable main compartment insert.
- New accessory pouches for filters and flat items.
- Tripod straps with quick-release buckles for ease of access.

On the other hand, the Jasper 2.0 rolltop backpack is medium in size. It features a 7.5L main compartment and can be expanded to 9L with the rolltop design. All you have to do is unroll it when you need the extra space. The latch has metal slide hooks that secure your gear in place. Some of its other features include a better ergonomic design for longer use, a shoulder harness, a padded waist strap (adjustable and removable), and straps and anchors for your tripods.
Both bags are green and black in color and are weather-resistant and waterproof. The small, medium, and large satchels are $139.95, $164.95, and $189.95, respectively. The rolltop bag is $215.95.
Our Thoughts About The ProMaster Jasper 2.0
In the past, we had the opportunity to test ProMaster Jasper’s bags and let us tell you, we quite liked them. For instance, in our review of the ProMaster Jasper satchel, we noted that a leather or canvas-built one would be great. but the price it is available, one can easily purchase it without thinking too much. “The only other brand that I’ve used that puts such an emphasis on this is Tenba. What I absolutely adore is the pocket on the top flap that lets you stuff small things in there,” wrote our Editor, Chris Gampat. “If you’re a photographer who doesn’t need to edit right then and there or who uses an iPad to handle editing, then the ProMaster Jasper Medium Satchel is seriously a bag to look at,” he added.
We did not review the rolltop bag, but we did get our hands on the halfback bag. In our review, we did not think that a little more padding could be great here and there, and it would be perfect enough to be a contender against the higher-end backpacks. “If you’re on a budget, then the Promaster Jasper Halfpack is a great camera bag,” wrote Gampat.
Considering how the ProMaster Jasper bags performed in the past, we are absolutely positive the Jasper 2.0 series will be equally effective. The bags are designed to meet harsh weather conditions, which means they are great for adventure or wildlife photographers. You know your equipment will be safe even if you are caught in the rain. That’s a huge deal, especially when your bag costs less than 250 dollars.
