For a while, WANDRD has made bags tailored to photographers we’ve loved. Now, they’re launching a new set of daily carry bags for photographers and non-photographers for commuting and day trips – the WANDRD STRATUS and NIMBUS 18L bags.
STRATUS Photo 18L and Nimbus 18L Features
For photographers, the STRATUS Photo 18L keeps things easy to access while including safety features for your valuables. With a contoured back panel, breathable AirMesh straps, and removable chest straps, the Stratus Photo 18L allows you to carry your photography gear while keeping things comfortable and dry. There’s everything you’d come to know and love from WANDRD’s photography bags, including quick, dual side access to your camera gear, and customizable camera organization.
The Nimbus backpack is designed with non-photographers in mind and offers the same comfortable contoured back panel and padded straps with breathable AirMesh material. It also has hidden pockets for cash or a passport book, an AirTag, and internal fold-down pockets.
Looking for the Perfect Camera Bag

I won’t lie to you; the quest for the perfect camera bag may end up being a life-long pursuit for me. Between getting tired of the aesthetics and overall durability, it’s so hard to find that one bag that replaces them all. At the same time, I’ve been using my WANDRD PRVKE 21L for nearly 10 years; it’s traveled across three continents, been dropped, splashed, and someone tried to rip it from my shoulder, and it keeps ticking.
This bag has been such a big part of my travel kit that, at one point, it flat-out replaced my carry-on luggage. While I love my PRVKE 21, it always feels like a little overkill for a daily commute or even a quick day trip. Though the difference in capacity may not seem like a lot, oftentimes, those tiny details make all the difference in the world. That’s why I’m so interested in the STRATUS 18L and what it could mean simply running into the city or even in my day-to-day travels. The benefits of camera gear organizations, the ability to comfortably house multiple lenses, and plenty of room for personal effects have me thinking that this bag might be the daily driver I’ve been looking for.
Last Thoughts

Whether you need a camera backpack or a stylish yet rugged backpack that won’t look like a time capsule in a couple of years, the STRATUS Photo and NIMBUS 18L bags hold a lot of promise (pun completely not intended). After juggling several bags—shoulder bags, tote bags, slings, and yes, even my PRVKE—I’m ready for a change that I hope will stick. If you’re tired of bulky bags or flimsy totes, these new bags could very easily become your everyday bag.
If you’re interested in trying one out for yourself, the STRATUS Photo 18L and NIMBUS 18L bags will be available on WANDRD’s website and will cost $229 and $179, respectively. Both will be available in Black, Green (which looks really nice to me), and Uyuni Purple.
